A Priest in Hell

This drawing is from 1998.I met some of these people later, which happens quite often when I paint people. It usually means trouble, so I mostly paint animals now.

The Annabells

When I was 18, I ran away from school and went to greece.
At Athens I stayed at a little pub, the Annabells. There were all sorts of strange people. But some of the people in this picture are made up. This was to catch the atmosphere.

Sunflower Field

In 1987 I went to France for a year to work for a goat dairy farmer.
This is a sunflower field which I passed daily when I was walking with the goats all over the place for grazing. Some people think it is night, but I just made the background too dark.

Cellist

This drawing was done when I was 16 years old.I had some friends, who learned to play cello and I had a go at it. The original is about the size of a playing card.

Red Pond

I did this drawing when I was about 14 years old.It was a dream I had the previous night, where I had been swimming in the warm water of a pond,when the sun set and the stars appeared.
But instead of setting behind the horizon, then sun went under the waterline of the pond and all the water started to glow orange and I could see the jellyfish below.
This was so beautiful, I felt the strong urge to make a picture of it. As you can't take photographs of dreams, the only way was to paint it.
